Dive Boat
where can I get Air from? Have you got air?
Our boat has a compressor on board and the skipper
will fill your cylinders AFTER your dives ready for the
next dive. We run a policy turn up with a full cylinder
and leave with one. We cannot begin to fill cylinders
on the morning of the first dive as we have to load and
get underway. If you need air before your first dive you
can get your cylinder filled at the old
harbour dive shop on the quay.
Is there Nitrox on board?
The answer is NO we just do air and air top offs. If you
need some nitrox then there is the old
harbour dive shop on the quay.
Where will I find the boat?
Skin Deep is moored by the Sailors return Public
House. When you reach the roundabout with the fire station
directly opposite go left along the water front with the
water and boats on your left you will see the boat the other
side of the river this side of the bridge. When you reach
the bridge go left over the bridge and carry straight on
and make the first turn on your left which will lead you
to where we are moored. Don’t leave you car hanging
around too long as this is a no parking zone by you should
have time to load your stuff onto the boat.

Is there a toilet on board?
YES there is and we have toilet roll but please
read the instructions on how to use it as we don’t
want to spend the day unblocking it if you use it wrong.
Top
How many people can the boat take?
The boat is licensed to carry 12 customers we cannot
by law take anymore so please don’t ask us to. We
have two crew on board as well and that’s all we can
take. If you want to bring anyone else with you they will
have to form part of the group charter organised by the
group leader.
Top
Is there O2 and First aid on board?
Yes there is and we have had to use it. Let’s
hope we don’t with your group.
Top
Do we have to pay more if we want to go further
offshore?
Yes you do we have specific prices for specific
distances worked out on a radius from Weymouth and it’s
basically a fuel surcharge. If your diving deep wrecks with
us and you are going a long way offshore your organiser
will be familiar with the charges they will tell you.
Top
Can I leave my diving gear safely around at night
on the boat?
Yes you can as we have means to lock everything up so there's
not need to lug your gear on and off every night.
Top
What is slack water?
Slack water is the period of time when the speed
of the water flowing into or out of the English Channel
is dive able. We can only dive the wrecks that are affected
by the tide at certain times and it won’t wait for
us. This means that time schedules throughout your holiday
will move on an hour each day. Sometimes we may have to
leave very early in the morning and be back earlier. This
is normally what happens on the last day so you can get
away and home for a reasonable time.
Top
When will the slack be?
The skipper will tell you when slack will be and
it will be written on the board on the dive boats door each
day. You will not need to ask.
Top
Is there lead and cylinders supplied on board the
boat?
No you bring all your own Scuba gear even your
air for the first dive we provide everything else from then
on.
Top
Do you hire equipment?
No we do not however you may want to explore the
local dive shops and ask if they do.
Top
What will my second dive be?
For club level diving we offer two dives a day the first
normally is on a wreck of your choice however the second
dive will be a shallower wreck on the way back to Weymouth
or a drift dive. This will also be in agreement of the dive
organiser the skipper and everyone else on the boat.

Is accommodation available with my dive charter?
Yes it is for further details see our accommodation
page click here.
Top
Are we staying in the house or the Bunker?
Depending on what package or specific place your
organiser has booked depends on where you will be staying.
Normally at weekends you will be in the house and for a
week long package you will be in the bunker. Why not ask
you organiser where you will be staying.
